Android gadget have grown rapidly in popularity nearly these years. I’m just one of those Android users, and would prefer to view my favorite DVD movies on Android tablet/phone in the car. However, I confronted with an obstacle that I cannot watch DVD movies on Android directly. Well, what I need to do it is to find a tool to rip DVD to Android player supported MKV format first before transferring.

Hot Search: MKV to Android | Tivo to Android | Blu-ray to Android | ISO/IFO to Android | iTunes to Android | Digital Copy to Android

There are many programs out there that allow me to make copies of DVDs in MKV format and let me watch them the way I want to view DVD movies on Android devices. Which one is the best? Or which one is the most suitable? Most of us are likely familiar with the excellent Handbrake for ripping standard Def DVDs, but while it has added SOME support for does not rip or decrypt commercial DVDs and DVDs, so an intermediate step is needed.

The best program I can recommend for ripping DVD to Android is Pavtube BDMagic for Mac. (Learn why select it) This Blu-ray/DVD ripping software allows users to rip Blu-ray, DVD to MKV, AVI, MP4, MOV, M4V, WMV, MPEG-2, etc as you like. What’s more, it supports a variety of Android Gadgets liek Galaxy Tab 3, Galaxy Note 4/3, Google Nexus 7/Nexus 10, Asus Transformer Prime/Infinity TF700, Amazon Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD, BlackBerry Z10/PlayBook, Sony Tablets, Acer tablets, Lenovo ThinkPad, etc. as well as Apple iOS and Windows based multimedia devices. You just need to simply select the profile to rip and copy BD/DVD for playback on Android device with optimized settings and never worry about the video incompatibility! Download the program right now and follow the steps below I share to realize this magic dream.

How to Convert DVD movies for Android Tablet/Phone for viewing with MKV Player

Part I: Ripping DVD movies to MKV

1. Load DVD movies

Insert the DVD disc to your computer’s DVD-ROM and click the “Load Disc” button on top left to add the DVD movies you want to play on Android device. Note that you can also add regular DVD to rip. On the source pane, you can choose the DVD titles you’d like to rip.

2. Choose output video format

Click on the drop down list of “Format”, and then follow “Common Video”> “MKV(Matroska) Video (*.mkv)”. Also, this Blu-ray/dvd converter provides optimized formats for Samsung, Motorola, Acer, Asus, Sony, Toshiba, HTC, etc branded Android devices; choose a proper one as you need. Or depends on your device, you can choose a suitable video format from “Android” catalogue.

Tips: Profile Settings (Optional)

Pavtube DVD to MKV Converter allows users customizing the output file quality by clicking “Settings” button to adjust video and audio parameters including codec, aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, and audio channel. Please remember the file size is based more on bitrate than resolution which means bitrate higher results in bigger file size, and lower visible quality loss.

3. Rip DVD to MKV

After all necessary settings, click the “Convert” button on the main interface and the software will start converting DVD to MKV automatically. When the conversion is over, you can click “Open” to locate the ripped files and easilytransfer them to your Android device.

Part II: Installing MKV player for Android

Now start installing a top MKV player for easy and smooth playback converted mkv on Android devices. When comes to MKV players, here are some recommendations for you:

MX Player is one of the most popular video players on Android right now, it has a nicer interface and a few more configuration options, but requires a manual codec download to play certain videos (particularly those with DTS audio).
By far the simplest video player we tried was the VLC beta for Android. It played everything we threw at it with no codec installations required, and we were up and running with our videos in seconds. It was a tiny bit slower and buggier than other options, but it is in beta.
mVideoPlayer is a popular alternative with a beautiful, media center-like interface. Its big downside, however, is that it only supports formats that your phone natively supports. But again, if you’re converting your videos before syncing them anyways, it’s worth a look.

There are a ton of other options for you. But of everything we tested, we think the above players are most likely to fit just about anyone’s needs, you can check them out to see what’s right for you.

Now just enjoy DVD movies on Android Gadgets using MKV player in the car with high quality. Have fun!
